Good Morning. Today, sitting in my lounge I have the very talented Lorelei Confer We are going to eat hot scones with cream, while chatting about her latest release Deadly Revenge
Don't forget the best comment will win a surprise gift from me.
Lorelei is an author of romantic suspense she loves reading almost as much as writing. She lives on a peninsula in the mid west coast of Florida with her husband, two cats, and AJ, her long haired Chihuahua.
Now I have always wanted a Chihuahua, but for some reason have always ended up with huge dogs. I do envy her lol
She wrote her first story in the fourth grade in the form of a play which actually was produced by her teacher for parents and students. She continued writing and majored in English in College.
So lets get right down to hearing about her book, Deadly Revenge. Here is something to whet your appetite.
Tory Richards returns to North Carolina to help her mother set up a B & B never expecting to stumble across several murder victims, fall in love, or get abducted by human traffickers.
Fortunately, when she’s run off the road on the way into town, Dave Miller, working undercover on the task force for human trafficking, comes to her aid. She blows off the near fatal accident as just that--an accident, but rethinks her position once events escalate.
Someone is trying to kill Tory. Failing that, she’s being set up as a suspect in four murders. As Dave falls more deeply for Tory, how will he tell her who he is and what he does? Will she ever trust him?Trust becomes a moot point when Tory is abducted and everything points to the group of human traffickers Dave’s had under surveillance. He calls in the entire task force, but will they reach Tory before she’s used as a sex slave?
Hi Margaret. Thanks for having me here today.
DEADLY REVENGE is the second book in a series with the theme of human trafficking. I’ve been working on the third book in the human trafficking series titled DEADLY DELIVERANCE, which hopefully will be finished by the end of the year. (out early next year) As writers we all have favourite characters, mine is Tory. I love that she photographs everything, leaving discernable clues about her life and what happens to her. She becomes a stronger woman by the end of the book and has to make a decision about leaving the NC mountains and returning to the beach, where she has a home and job waiting for her, without Dave. She can’t stay and he won’t leave.

Tory sounds like a strong Alpha woman. The whole premise intrigues me. Do you have any marketing advice that you'd like to pass on?
The best marketing advice I can give would be to blog and participate on the loops for readers, Goodreads if a great source of readers and authors.
As this is a romance blog, have you got a real life one that you could share?
Sure I do. My husband and I were high school sweethearts. On our first date I asked him to let me drive his car because I was taking my driver’s test the next day and wanted to be prepared. Anyway, I took a turn too sharp and hit the side of the road which had a five foot embankment which side swiped the entire passenger side. We were never able to get that door open. He was going into the Army a few months later and sold the sold the car for $300. We’ve been married 41 years in May.
Wow, 44 years. May you have many more. Is their anything else you'd like to say before you have to dash off?
Just to say thanks again and to ask if anyone would like to drop by and see me please do, at www.loreleiconfer.com. I love meeting new people. I also have a blog.
Hi Lorelei! Your book and yours series sound very interesting, and I commend you for being married for 41 years. How did you get interested in human trafficking as a topic, and to what do you attribute the longevity of your marriage?
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you!
Hi Lorelei,
ReplyDeleteWhat's your next book about. I enjoyed the first one and the second sounds even better.
Maureen
I'm a paranormal reader at heart, but if its on your blog mags it must be worth having a look at. I'll go and look at Lorelei's website. (cool name BTW)
ReplyDeleteMags, a thriller on a paranormal blog?? How adventurous lol Your just teasing people to come and read it, aren't you! I'll go and have a look to at Loreleis blog etc.
ReplyDeleteMaureen: Nice to see you here today! My next book is the third in the 'Deadly' series and also about human trafficking but a cold case as well. The hero and heroine must work together to solve the cold case so their is a lot of sexual tension as well as sex involved.

Anonymous said...Hi Julie: Nice to meet you. I became interested in human trafficking after I read a local newspaper article about it happening in my backyard so to speak. I wanted to get an awareness message out to as many women as possible and chose this series as that method. So far it's working out well. As to the longevity of marriage, I believe that you have to wait three days after an argument or altercation before making any decisions. So it continues...

Congratulations on 41 years; we reached 42 years in June. It's nice to know that someone else married their high school sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrea, and congratulations to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteHey ho looks like more books to consider for my bookshelves. On saying that the more people that read them the more people will be aware that it's happening.
ReplyDeleteThank you country queen.
ReplyDeleteGlad to meet you Lorelei and have to say your book sounds great. My type of books. I must say also your marriage was tested long before it really happened. If you wreck his car and he still wanted to marry you that was the best test. You know when it comes to a man and his car..well we have to be extra special to have him look at us twice. ha ha On Wednesday 29th my hubby and I celebrate 48 years together and we are still each other's best friend. Gary wasn't my high school sweetheart but I was 16 and he 17 when we got married. I never had a high school sweetheart as I was not interested in anything or anyone at school but my studies. I rushed home and worked cleaning houses and babysitting after school so never had a teen ager's life. No complaints..it taught me a lot. Thanks for letting me add my comments and I want to wish you best of luck on the book and also life as a married of couple 41 years...many more to come. susan Leech
